Missouri City Debt Collector and Collection Abuse
There are laws to protect consumers from unscrupulous debt collectors. Specifically, and amongst the most popular laws are the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA) and the Federal Fair debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). The Mastriani will sue a creditor that violates these laws or any laws. More often than not creditors and collection agencies break the law with respect to the collection of a debt. Common violations include but are not limited to the following: Constantly calling and harassing you at home and work; revealing your debt to third parties; threatening that you will go to jail if you do not pay the debt, contending that there is a judgment against you; contending that they can garnish your wages; contending that your homestead can be seized and sold; leaving messages and not advising who they are; claiming additional lawful fees can be added to a debt; and calling you after you have retained an attorney.
If any of the aforementioned has occurred or you feel that you have not been treated with respect and dignity from a debt collector please call the Mastriani Law Firm and schedule a free attorney consultation because we sue debt collectors and creditors that do cross the line.
